Wonderful series of shots. Assume they are natural light ?

Think #1 is a tachinid fly whilst the last fly is a snipe fly probably Rhagio tringarius.

The beetle is a spotted cucumber beetle, or in agriculture, we call it a southern corn rootworm beetle. Same beetle different names.

Might as well post these as well, These are all with the 7D, 100mm f/2.8L IS, First 2 with the 1.4x TC, last one without, and all at f/8 and ISO400

Tobacco hornworm i believe, very close to the Tomato Hornworm..

I dont think i've used a lens more than my 100mm f/2.8L IS. Shame my 7D seems to be out of whack.. Well its 7 years old and ive not been kind to it lol

Also every shot is handheld :)

Thanks! Your available light approach is working, nice sharp pics, nice light. It's very different from what I'm doing, so it is interesting to look at your results and compare and contemplate.

Almost every macro i do is handheld in natural light :D I just really luck out with the light or i shade with my hand or my body as needed.. its too hard to carry a flash or tripod to me, so i work handheld and improvise lol..

Thank you :)
