I'll revive a dormant thread since I just moved from the original version to the G2 of this lens...

HOSTED PHOTO DISPLAY FAILED: ATTACH id 1016092 has been deleted. ]

And I will join you in keeping it alive... This lens is fantastic. Great close-up of that Bald Eagle. Thank you for sharing. I will post a few shortly.

I am very surprised there are not more Tamron 150-600mm G2 owners posting on this forum. Have been getting some very impressive results using this camera/lens combo.

Was that free hand or with a tripod? It seems quite slow to hand hold - very nice photo though.

All handheld. Those small birds are quick and moving around constantly. They are hard to follow with a Tripod. Here is a shot I took of a Red Shouldered Hawk back in April. I wasn't quite ready when it flew right over my head and perched right in front of me. Check out the Exif data... I shot it at 1/40s. VC in this lens works surprisingly well....

Here is another example where the image stabilizer worked some magic. Sometimes you just don't have time but to point and shoot. In this case I shot at 1/60's sec. f/7.1 350mm.

Looking to get this lens. Anyone use it with a 1.4 tc? If so which one? Tamrons or canon mk3 would deliver cleaner image? Samples?

I want to die peacefully, in my sleep, like my grandfather.
Not screaming, terrified, like his passengers.

f/9 autofocus will be a bit compromised in OVF mode in most cameras, and probably not stellar (speedwise) with sensor-based AF, either.

With relatively small pixels, like the 90D, any impact on AF may not be worth it, but for a large-pixel camera, you will get significantly more detail with the TC, which may be worth the AF impact in some situations.
