That's odd. I didn't think that any of Canon's 50mm lenses had IS on it. -?

Ok, you are right the 50 mm doesn't have IS, but the focus ring is loose as a goose.

.........then you come along here and state the lens doesn't have IS???

This has gotten too abstract for me. I'm out. -?

I'm sorry, read my other post, you are not alone, nobody knows what I'm talking about.
I'm the one that needs to get a clue and be out of here, because I'm to dumb to know how to ask a question?
I do appreciate all of you that goes out of your way to help me, it must be a tough job to decode my questions.
When you mentioned IS I immediately went to my camera and the lens had an IS switch but it was my 55- 250 lens , without any thinking about which lens was on the camera, until it was mentioned that the 50 mm doesn't have IS switch, sure enough I check the 50mm and it doesn't have IS. It took me more than a second or two to put together what I had done.
I know I'm leaving something out here with my explanation, but right now nothing is ring a bell with me.
I can't blame or be upset if all of you are out of here when ever I post something else, cause no matter how hard you guys try, you can't fix stupid. ߘ

LOL. Don't be too hard on yourself. I get confused like how you were, too. But to get back to your original problem, I think it's your 50mm lens with the very loose focusing ring is the issue. The focusing ring is not supposed to be loose like that. Short of telling you to have it repaired by a qualified shop or Canon, I do not know of any home remedy to fix that.
