At Jackson Bottom Wildlife Reserve, Hillsboro OR. Taken with the 7D2 + 500/4 II + 1.4X III, handheld.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Thank you all for the kind words. I got lucky with the water - I've never seen it that still. Using focus point expansion on the 7D2 allowed me to handhold the 500 II with the 1.4X III, a 1000mm+ equivalent FOV and still get good shots. The camera saved me from my own handholding limitations.
