I'm curious... LR and PS don't open the 5D4 CR2's yet, so are you all going to have to use DPP for now? I'm REALLY looking forward to seeing dynamic range abilities, or lack of.

This is the case for every new Camera/RAW file since these programs first existed.

What I can't understand is why Canon can't get Adobe to work closely with them ahead of time with the right NDAs so that a new LR version is released at the same time as the camera. This kind of stuff happens all the time in the computer industry with drivers, etc. It seems like it would really boost the excitenent among the end users to be able to use their usual programs and generate good data on the camera's performance.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

Use DPP convert to TIFF and edit in your program of choice.

I know I can do that, but I can't understand why a new LR release can't be synchronized with the camera release. It's not like Canon cannot provide Adobe with some CR2 files ahead of time.

You will have to wait a lot longer if you use FoCal.

I just found out last night that my focal doesn't work because I updated to 2.2 and they are no longer allowing me to upgrade.

I'm done with that software anyway I'd rather go shoot my kids than test charts.

Yeah, I can understand that Canon may not be able to work with every boutique software company ahead of time, but this is Adobe we are talking about.
