Yes I did! This was a friend's MarkIV that I slipped a card into for a shot. Mine should be here next week.

Will my 5D III L bracket fit the 5D IV both non grip? If not I'll have one for sale.

What brand?

Bottom line is that the bottom is identically curved in the same places,. so the brackets will indeed all fit. The only difference that effects the brackets is the ever so slight difference in the 5D4 battery door placement.

The RRS does not allow the battery door to open fully, but can be made to fit with fractions of an inch sanded off,. it is just a mm or so too long to let the battery door open fully.

I understand the Kirk L bracket does not have this problem, does not require any modification.

I think it depends on which L bracket you have. I have the 5D3 Kirk version, it fits the Mark IV fine. Someone mentioned the RSS version might need a little filing in order to open the battery door. These thoughts pertain to the NON gripped version.

I have a RRS L plate that I picked up for the 5Dc but have not tried but now I have the answer. I have RRS base plates and a file, some emery cloth and spray couldn't take care of when it went to a new body.

Sunwayfoto which I had no issues with on the 6D or 5D.

If it is the RRS for 5Dc, it doubt it will fit. 5D2 RRS bracket isn't even close.

I never even tried it on my 5D2. Thanks for the info. Time to get the plasma cutter out :-)

People say they fit perfect and I rebought a III bracket and ya it fits but the curve is not exact and IMHO will put added pressure points and not spread evenly and will cause paint wear.

Just how I see it.

Did a bridal session yesterday here in VA. It was 73 degrees at 3:30 p.m. Such a beautiful day. Excuse the pictures aren't perfect, I haven't edited them yet. The 5DIV with 24-70II is insane! Wonderful.

My children and grandchildren are the reason, but it's the passion that drives me to get the perfect image of everything.
