Man it's hard to go back to the 7DII in low light.

The 4 is sooo much cleaner, and even when the noise is about the same ( I think the 5D4 must be close to two stops better) the noise looks so much nicer. (IMHO)

That is all

Y'all just really, really want to spend my money, don't you? :p

Would it be safe to say, then, that the 5d4 + 1.4iii would get about the same pixels on target and cleaner results than the 7d2, even given the loss of stop for the TC?

Just paid my "admission fee" to join this club, now I just have to patiently wait until next week for my birthday present to me.

Gonna be a long week... :(

I just bought a dang M5 and now there's a deal on the 5D4 that's almost what I would have been looking for.

Annoying!

Ha! I picked up an M5 last month. Going from a 6D, 7D2, and an M3 to a 5D4 and a M5.

The wife thinks it is "Down sizing" she can't tell one from another, but she can count...

What deal?

CanonPriceWatch has an offer up that includes a printer and still comes in below the 5D4 price after rebate.

I ran this as a controlled test in my house using 500mm F4 and found exactly that...the 5D4 with 1.4x will outresolve the 7D2 bare, and the extra high ISO performance will make up for the lost stop of light, plus a wee bit more. The 7D2 with 1.4x will outresolve them both, though.

So, I kept the 7D2 (I shoot mostly birds) and still use it when I need to crop a lot and when the light is good. When close (like feeder setup or large, tame birds) or low light, 5DIV.

Don't ask why the settings are 1/5000 and f/2.8 (I wasn't paying enough attention)
