Good shot!

The red kites in these shots had their sights set on stork chicks, but the raven squadron chased them off every time. Interesting how fiercely the ravens protected the storks.

Picked up the 5D Mark IV about a month before I took a Trip to Italy, Austria, and Germany this month. Really loving it. Here is an image from Firenze Italy :-)

Here's a few from my 2nd wedding of the year with the 5D IV.

This first shot is also my first time using the 100L Macro. Previously I was using the 70-200 with extension tubes, which worked great, but obviously a little more of a hassle.

I don't know what these crows were protecting but they were having none of this osprey. We were on a lake with hundreds of nesting pairs of osprey so it wasn't like they hadn't seen one before!! And I don't think the osprey are a threat to baby birds, as far as I know they are strictly fish-eaters.

So I am feeling like my pictures look a little washed out when I get the lighting correct. I shoot with natural lighting as much as possible and I am not very happy with the color/quality of my pictures. This was shot at f/3.5 SS 1/200 ISO 1250. Standard setting and custom WB. Windows behind me and to my right. Any suggestions?

Are you using Lightroom? If so.. Auto adjust to start, lens correction, set black and white points using the ALT key, contrast up a bit, Vibrance and Clarity at about 9 to start..adjust to taste. Hope that helps.

It looks good to me. The background and floor are mostly neutral, but the colors that are in the image look fine. Is your monitor calibrated? Also, if color is critical, use something like the color checker passport. Even with a custom white balance, there can be color variations in the image.

Are you shooting RAW? Using picture styles? Image seems a tad cool, I would warm it a hair, and the contrast seems a bit much for a small child. I would tune down the shadows and darks a bit, up the saturation just a smidgen as well as the vibrance.

Only working with a screen capture I hope you can tell that he stands out more and his tone is more even and he's softer?

I hope you don't mine that I played with your image.

Both are great, I prefer the colored one, but I find the lack of plumb (true vertical) distracting. The ship and buildings are leaning 1-2 degrees to the left.
