Haven't posted in a while. Here's a great example of why I added a 5D IV to my 7D II for birds. Under the canopy, diffuse light, but kinda dim...went to ISO 1600 and clean as a whistle.

Eastern Wood-Pewee. Taken in Nova Scotia, June 3rd.

I am also so glad to upgrade from a 7DII to the 5DIV. A very heavy crop, ISO 4000, and I am still happy with the result (after some minimal processing with the LR).

Any idea why the EXIF is not showing for my posting above, even though it is available and visible on Flickr where the original shot was shared from?

Did you already post it somewhere else on the forums?

Actually, now that you said it, I remembered that I did. I forgot about it because the suggestions at the time did not help.

From this morning. Our local state park just reopened after being closed for 8 months due to extensive damage from Hurricane Matthew. Good to get back to the beach!

I think it does that when you post it in several places, it only shows the exif the first time, not 100% sure anymore though

No, not the case either. I just uploaded into a new album on Flickr, did Share Photo, selected BBCode and copied it, and pasted the code into the upload photo here on POTN. Everthing done only once. No EXIF.

On Flickr and possibly other services only the original uploaded photo carries the Exif. The only way to have the Exif display on AMASS! is to reduce the size of your photo to the correct dimensions for POTN(1280px on the long side) and then upload that file as your "original" photo to Flickr. Then when you link the photo to AMASS! it sees it as the original photo with Exif attached.

I used the correct dimensions, the long side was 1280.

But could you elaborate on the highlighted part of your suggestion, please? You lost me here. Thanks.

You have to resize to 1280px on long side before you upload the picture to Flickr instead of letting Flickr do it for you, so that the one you link to on Flickr is the original photo.

I do not find that to be the case at all, I load all of my pictures to Flickr @ 2048 on the long side and my exif data shows on the forum, eg, this one

IMAGE: https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2875/33876646290_6875719a74_b.jpg
IMAGE LINK: https://flic.kr/p/TByEGs (external link) 5DM43164 (external link) by Graham Mahoney (external link), on Flickr

However , I do select the 'large' size from the drop down box on the flickr share menu, that gives me 1024 on the long edge, ie the largest size under the 1280 forum max.

A coupla bodies and a few lenses
