Great shots! I love that the first looks like the bolt came from that building. Big wide bolt and then smaller as it gets to the clouds, when compared to the second that looks opposite. But then again - I'm a scifi geek! This kind of thing might only occur to me ;-)a

Nice capture! I am considering the 100-400 II +1.4x, and I'm curious how much of a crop (if any) this shot is. I love the color and the sharpness of this one!

Here is the full frame of the original with the same processing as the one above.

Getting better at wildlife photos with the 5DIV, still use my 7Dii a lot but this is nice and sharp!! 100-400ii plus 1.4TC

Completely agree. I have the same setup - the 5DIV with the 100-400II and 1.4x TC. I get better images than those with the 7DII.

Amazing how the lightning flash is reversed here. I don't think I ever saw that before. Seems unreal. Great shot.

Actually, lightning strikes from the ground up when the connection is made it's just so fast you don't realize it, and it looks like in this case the one connection that was made split into several as it went upwards. Really cool shot!

Don't know for sure, but I thought it could go either way (besides cloud to cloud).

Nothing makes me happier than being in the quiet, open desert. Makes me miss my hometown... Nice shot!

I like that! A little different since most shots have the lightning hitting something on the ground. That little "hook" on the end really draws your eye.
