Is this to have a dual SD setup?

Preferably. I have about 15 fast sd cards and don’t want to have to buy cf cards to match. All of my sd cards are 32 gb and I would want size to match. If there isn’t a decrease in speed while using the adapter then I don’t see a reason not to use it.

I've seen those adapters and apparently they're to thick to even fit on DSLRs. Not to mention, some are not even recognized by today's cameras.

I used one with my 7D with no issues.

first portrait session today with the 5d4.. it did not disappoint .. I did occasionally have to remind myself that its an OVF not EVF .. and so its not a what you see is what you get situation.
but no shots were ruined because of that as i'd always catch myelf..
shot at about noon or a bit before so the sun was pretty much over head.. so yeah got some hot spots here and there ,
a couple of blurry shots at high s/s that I was surprised at .. same pose , same settings all 5 pics not super sharp... not totally blurry but yeah not impressive .
but all the above is user error , I know this .. have a terrible cold , poor sleep last night , so i'm sure my hands weren't at there best(although even at their best I have shakey hands

I have another portrait session next Monday , maybe.. hopefully as its getting colder , but we've been getting unusaullly warm weathere for this time of year.. so i'm trying to squeeze them in while I can .. because after this it'll be studio sessions only .. and while I love shooting in a studio , it does add to the cost

Camera came in yesterday but I won’t be able to really use it until this weekend. I spent last night reading through the manual and researching settings. A few of my first thoughts:

• Coming from a 6D this thing is a game changer if not but for the auto focus alone.

• Holding the body with the grip almost makes my 6D feel like a rebel.

• Having the new programmable button under the joystick is awesome. Even the grip has it! I set mine to change iso.

I’ll report back after my first shoot.

Here is the Amazon link to the adapter....

I use Sandisk Extreme Pro and Lexar professional cards. 90 mb/s minimum.

This is "Type II" which means it fits in the slot that was designed to accommodate the old hard disk drive based Microdrive "memory" cards. I honestly can't recall if a modern Canon DLSR like the 5D4 even has a type 2 slot anymore. If it does, it likely has not been used by anyone anywhere for many many years as the microdrive cards are long gone best forgotten history.

So the cf slot from the 7D would be different than the one on the 5D4?

7D is a lot older, it may still have had a type II.

What did you use for the stitching?
My understanding is that LR gives you several choices of perspective for the stitching algorithm. It looks like you used semi-fisheye with the curvature. I am not saying that there is or isn't a better choice.

PS. I'm planning to give LR a try.

My experience was that the adapter definitely slowed down the SD card because of the dates / slow circuitry. I believe it was the same vendor, but I called and they had no plans to update; this was in early 2015 after I got my 7dii. I would call them first and ask the max speed supported.
