Twin Rocks? It's been a long time since I've been there. Your photo is encouragement to get back. Nice shot!

Image editing ok; C&C always welcome.

Is that the official name? First time I've ever stopped there, only because I remember seeing a shot years ago of a beam of light through the arch. Great stop for sure!

Yes, it's Twin Rocks. I didn't know that December is a good time to get the sun setting through the hole. Our son's family lives in CA, so we're on I-5 a few times each year. We might plan a December trip next year!

You've captured an Escher's Waterfall there.

Yeah apparently this is the time. Even if you cannot get at the perfect angle, I have seen some shots with some pretty amazing casts of light out of it, I think those need more fog/luck. Pretty neat beach. Dec-Feb is the time for the coast as long as you can luck out weather wise. It was 57 deg/light wind/T-shirt weather this past week!

You can also checkout TPE: http://photoephemeris.com/tpe-for-desktop (external link)

It will give you an idea of the angle and then maybe use google earth to see how that angle would look from an eye level vantage point. Basically you need to be maybe a half mile north of the rocks for the maximum opening. I parked just south of the downtown area where this very small beach sign was located. Should get you close enough!
