Very pretty shot. I like the composition on this one.

This is my wife performing with her band. On a dark stage. This is at ISO 5000 with the 70-300L lens @135mm, handheld @ 1/200 sec. Great sensor performance at high ISO. Shot handheld through lots of obstructions while I was on the stage at the side stage left. Lots of color adjustments due to crazy stage lighting.

So I guess it didn’t take them that long to deliver it after all? How did that all turn out?

Yeah, I knew that the eBay seller was BS'ing me. The camera itself is just as I expected with no difference whatsoever from those sold by, say, Adorama or BH or Amazon, i.e., the US editions. So far it's great, although coming from 5DIII it's nothing super. Now, only if 7DIII does come out in this new year....

Interesting. I kind of got that it the seller was just trying to up-sell. I felt simalry when I moved from the iiii to the iv. I didn’t really feel the iii was missing anything for my use but the improved firmware and customization does give it some added versatility. I hope you enjoy it.

The most significant benefit for upgrading from III to IV for me who shoot birds primarily is being able to crop more freely. That's the main reason why I upgraded. With the III, my bird photos in most cases couldn't print over 16x20 max, but with the IV I should be able to go larger.

The raw file is cleaner too, with a little more latitude to work with in post. I still have and use my Mark III and it's become easy to distinguish the files between them without looking at the file name. Congrats and enjoy it.
