I'm doing initial adjustments in DPP, saving off as JPEG, and then editing in LR.

Clunky.

Has there been an announcement when the 5DIV files can work with LR and PSE?

I have everything ready for the camera when it arrives, including an extra battery, large CF and SD cards and maybe a new bag to add to the 25+ I have already. :)

DDP isn't too bad. I don't have issues with it. I also save in JPEG then edit, if needed. I'm one who likes to get it right out of the camera because I hate editing. But I'm hoping in low light, this new camera will really shine.

And I don't have a dog or a cat, but I live in a community with beautiful horses. Must get out my 70-200 2.8 IS II. :)

Funding? My wife always says 'it is about the money' but I don't see the point here has any validity.

Adobe is GOING to do the support for the new RAW one way or the other.

So it is simply a matter of timing.

Now I can hear Canon saying 'we don't lock down the RAW specifications until just before release' - but let's be real. They've been producing and packing boxes for weeks to be able to deliver worldwide. Which included DPP CDs - so they could have delivered the .cr2 specs to Adobe on the day the DPP software was delivered to the CD duplicators.

How do you know Canon didn't provide the .cr2 software specs to Adobe? The onus for development still remains with Adobe. I worked with a couple of major software companies, and sometimes, the development work can be more extensive than it might appear to someone on the outside. The camera started shipping on September 8, and DPP was available for download on the Canon Europe site. It's available today on the Canon USA site. I don't feel anyone is being left in a lurch here.

Trying out the DPR feature for macro, and as we suspected, it doesn't offer much latitude for this application due to the already tiny DOF. Not to mention, the hit you take on sharpness (pretty vital for macro) isn't worth the minuscule adjustments you can make.

TL;DR: need wider DOF for DPR to make a difference.

Anyways, grabbed some more shots out in the weeds. I was blown away by the detail on this wasp shot, though it probably won't translate too well from what I see on screen to being uploaded online.

Likewise, nice shooting with the 100L! What AF mode are you using for your macro shooting?

I'm trying out all of my lenses as the day goes by, and so far none have disappointed. After shooting on a crop camera for the past few months, it's great to get back to full frame goodness.

50L... didnt realize how much I missed this lens, just wasn't the same on the 80D.

Super weird! The internet has been telling me that this camera is trash, but these photos are telling me otherwise. I don't even know who to believe anymore... My copy should be showing up on Monday :-D.

I'm sitting here, waiting for it to start sucking, but so far it's taking excellent photos. I don't know what's wrong with it...

Tried the DPR on this one, didn't do too much though.

QUOTED IMAGE

Nice detail. The fuzzy parts are crisp. Fuzzy meaning plant fur :-)
