It skips, misses a beat or two. ie: turn it three clicks, and the adjustment will only go one point instead of three. I can live with it, but it's getting worse.

I've got one. No problems so far, but I've only had it since mid-August.

What exactly is it doing?

Yikes! Sorry for your troubles. Thanks for the heads up.

Sounds exactly like the issue with the 7D2. The rubber grip that you touch separates from the plastic wheel inside. Should be lots of info around.

Really like the first shot. An air of suspense about it... The scene right before something happens in a movie.

A question for the 5D4 think-tank;

I feel like i have read about the Main Dial getting wacky on the 5D4? Mine is starting to act up. Am I write in thinking this is a small issue that crops up with the 5D4? Is the only fix a trip to Canon?

thanks in advance.

Yes, I have the same problem. I first discovered it while covering a wedding and was beside myself as I didn't know why the SS wasn't changing the number of clicks I was SURE I had executed. Well, I've got used to it now and always check my settings rather than going by feel. I haven't done anything about it and it doesn't seem to get any worse over time.

Thanks Annie.
Hmm, I think I might have it repaired.

I have not had this issue on this camera, but did on another one (not sure which one, but i think it was a film camera). Only way to fix is to have it repaired.

Interesting this comes up now. I’ve got about 300K shutter actuations on mine. Everything works like a charm, but lately the top dial has been off. I’ve lost the one-click-one-move action...sometimes 3 clicks makes 2 moves, if you know what I mean. I was about to send it in for repair.

Bottoms up! Male Gadwall, taken in Nova Scotia, Canada. It's not my usual style to cut my subjects in half, but I liked the symmetry and colours of this one.
