A really, really dull November morning and I was having no luck. I idly kicked over this can. It rolled through a puddle, picked up a leaf, and settled in this position, crying out to be photographed. Brightened up my day! Then I saw this weird tree which looked like a pony lying down... or am I seeing things? :-) Note the high ISO - the 5D IV coped admirably, as usual.

Its going to be real hard for me to give up a 5D4 for the R6 or R5 for portrait work. Shot this tonight and I used the tip of the nose v/s eye focus for a Mirrorless. Focus was 100% spot on. Its one extra step to move the focal point to the nose v/s letting the camera hit a forward eye automatically for me ......Im sure I will love the eye focus for animal & wildlife work. I see some advantages with a moving subject and portraits.....but not enough to spend 3K and change bodies.....5D4 does such a great job

You don't have to use the Eye-AF with the R5/6 and just use the spot focus like you'd with the 5D IV. I have both the 5D IV and the R5. I wouldn't have purchased the R5 if I were doing portraits primarily. As primarily a bird photographer, though, moving to the R5 was a logical decision.

Yup I see a big advantage with wildlife work and animal eye focus capabilities.......that said...the 1Dx2 rarely misses a shot with servo use and if I come on to a moving subject quickly, then I think the DSLR has the advantage....no lag in AF systems on a DSLR if you can get a focal point near the subject as it appears. This shot, a mirrorless would not have got.

Just some snap shots but I'm pretty happy with the colors. Minimal post editing.
