Perhaps fall off was not the best example. I was trying to illustrate how quickly you lose flash power and the fine line between between it freezing and not freezing a subject. Misread or not that effect is something I had never heard of and that might put me in a minority here. Years ago with film I used flash quite a bit for different effects. Learn something new every now and then. Thanks. >>> Pictures? What pictures? <<<<

I wanted to apply it when shooting weddings at end of the day but never got around to it being busy and tired. Figured it would make for some interesting shots if I hit one. And old photog trick I read was they would shoot at 1/15 or less to get in as much background ambient as possible while the flash illuminated the subject. As long as the people in the background weren't moving too much. When you think about it if they were dancing it would make a neat effect. Today's high ISO capable cameras doesn't make that technique as popular. I did shoot many weddings and stopped but if I do shoot an event for a friend or some fun I'll try it. Image Editing OK

More info | Dec 20, 2016 15:14 | #1241 Well I haven't been out with the camera due to my back acting up so I tried some evening shots off the Christmas tree with a high ISO. Pretty much straight out of the camera just to see what they were like... (only cropped). Image hosted by forum (830256) © Maureen Souza [SHARE LINK] THIS IS A LOW QUALITY PREVIEW. Not sure if you read pages back that the circuit board on mine was bad too and had to be replaced The power supply wasn't functioning so it didn't power on at all. I'm editing a wedding now that was just prior to that and am noticing significant variance in AF. Especially the night shots... Yea, I know it's definitely tougher then but I usually still nail them much closer than what I'm seeing. I took my camera on vacation & boy was I shocked to see how badly the focus was when I got back. I photograph babies & kids every week and rarely is anything out of focus so I was really surprised. I am just now trying out my various lenses on this fixed body so keeping my fingers crossed. Life is hard...but I just take it one photograph at a time.
