I'll keep it short and sweet. Hubbie accidentally deleted a folder with over 100GB of photos. Most are backed up on external drive thankfully. Is there recovery software anyone can recommend to try to get them back? He's on an HP computer using Windows 10.

Recuva by Piriform. Don't use the disk until you attempt to retrieve your files. Windows and other software continuously write temporary files to the system disk. If you files were on the system disk, then deleted, that space is now fair game.

Thanks for your reply. While I was posting here, he found Norton Utilities ($20). It appears to have found his files and he is in the process of recovering them now. A BIG crisis averted.

I'm happy you seem to have it solved. Recuva is also good for secure-overwrite/secure-erase of files you WANT to permanently delete. It is free, as are all the updates. One thing - it is slow! Another thing - it is quite happy recovering one of your files and writing it overtop of another file you wanted to recover. ALWAYS recover to a different disk!
