I've added keywords to all my photos in Lightroom 5.7. I assumed a secondary benifit of doing this would be that these keywords would be automatically entered as Tags when uploaded to flickr, but I'm not seeing this, despite having set the keywords to export. Is there something else I need to do in LR to make this work as expected, or is it just wishful thinking. FWIW, I'm using Lightroom's flickr publisher to upload images.

If you are actually exporting the keywords when it uploads to Flickr it should include all the keywords as tags. LR has several options for stripping EXIF type data, you need to double check that you have it set for all, I have found in the past, with using an old flakey computer that LR would occasionally randomly change settings when you wouldn't expect it to. To check that LR is actually including the keywords try using the Flickr download tool to download the original size file to your computer, and check that the keywords are actually present. When Flickr create all of the other size images that they offer/display they seem to remove ALL of the EXIF data, including the copyright info! So you need to ensure you get the original file.

Just to be certain, in your flickr export settings you've got it set to "all metadata"?

Scatterbrained's suggestion did the trick. Had to change the settings in Flickr's publish service within LR.

Big Al, I've found only one setting for exif data within flickr and it's an option to Hide all exif data from others. Where exactly are the other settings that you are refering to.

He isn't referring to settings in Flickr, he is referring to settings in Lightroom. When you create a keyword in Lightroom is has check boxes to tell Lightroom that the keyword should/should not be exported. If not selected they won't be exported.

Additionally, when you actually export and image via the export dialogue the screen has an option to include or exclude some or all of the exif. If you select to exclude the keywords won't be included.

The LR Publishing Manager is basically an enhanced Export system that automatically uploads the image to a service (instead of putting it on your HD). When you set it up there is the same option to include/exclude exists. If you select to include Exif the keywords will be included and Flickr will show them.

I see. Yes, I ensured that LR selections were set to export most of my keywords. I purposely de-selected some as well.
Looks like things are working now. Thanks.
