Hi everyone

I am using 2x6d for weddings. I am eagerly awaiting for 5d4 reviews to see if I will make my jump

My question is I always centre point focus and recompose. Have done so since my 5d2. Would the AF system in the 5d4 be beneficial for centre point focusing?

ISO performance with the 6d I am actually happy with so I would be mainly upgrading to 5d4 for the AF and dynamic range

It may have advantages on paper, but I'd think its unlikely that you'd see much benefit using center point only.

I suspect the advantages of that specific thing would be minimal, most likely

You are a working photographer. If you are happy with what you have now, you'll only lose money. Will the new camera bring you more clients? Will you be able to charge more for your services?

I wish it was this simple. We don't need an upgrade, we want it.

That's the question to answer: How long will it take the increased profits from this upgrade to pay for itself?

When I got my first 5D, it took exactly one month to pay for itself with increased profits--that camera enabled me to retire my Mamiya RZ67 and go wholly digital. The 5D2 took a bit longer because the major benefit to me of that camera was the ability to shoot half-length portraits without moire and better focus.

This.

The 6D's center point is very good, if it's working well for you (I can't imagine why it wouldn't be) then there's no reason to switch.

The only time I don't is when I'm shooting a very static composition, like a set-up of multiple corporate headshots. In that case, I'll move the focus point to where everyone's forward eye will be.
