Please move this to a more appropriate area if necessary :-)

I'm wondering what you think about photography qualifications - are they worth doing? Also I'm wondering about online short courses such as those frequently advertised on Facebook that promise some sort of diploma, and experience days such as those sold by Jessops.

Thanks for any insights :-)

You could also try the Open Collage of the Arts, they're based in Barnsley.

I don't think they're worth doing for the most part, unless a specific place you're trying to join with requires something. I've yet to see any that do, frankly. Most of it is just a money grab. These days people make more money on making "school" material or "workshops" than they do with their actual photography sadly, because it's such a hard market now (depending on the genre).

I think you'd be better off just buddying up with someone or some other people, if you're looking to learn from someone, and go where they go, see the light they see, etc. They do your own photographs. Let your photographs speak for themselves, without a diploma-mill paper from an automated system that gives you a PDF to print after you watch a video.

Very best,
