I just ordered a Graphite X-T1 with a 56/1.2 for the exact same reasons. Small body, small lens great IQ. Canon really should have learned lessons from Fuji. Sorry to anyone who've ordered an M5, I'm not hating on the camera, I really thought it was great when I heard about it, but an adaptor adding to the size of it wasn't for my circumstances. ( needing a small light set up with 2 very young kids and 1 on the way ) Looking forward to people posting pics though, I'll be following the thread with interest

While I understand where you are coming from, the actual numbers always seem to surprise me. While Canon does not have a 56 1.2 (84mm full frame equivalent), Canon does have a few 50mm (80mm full frame equivalent) lenses.
The Numbers are:
The Fuji XT-1 (440) and the 56 1.2 (405) is 845 grams. The M5 (427), adapter (105) and 50 1.4 (290) is actually only 822 grams which is less than the Fuji. Now, if you wanted something lighter, you could substitute the 50 1.8 (130 grams) for the canon 50 1.4 which would save you 160 grams (for a total of 662 grams or 183 grams less than the Fuji). Now, if you did want to go for the 50 1.2 (545 grams), you would come up with 1,027 grams (182 grams more than Fuji) which is clearly more.

Please don't get me wrong, I get that with the right lens combo mirrorless cameras can be very light and are in fact great cameras and that certain systems may have more native lenses. Yet, the M5 with the EF-M 22 (which is actually a pretty decent lens) is only 532 grams (which is how I intend to use it most of the time). While I hope that Canon will make more native EF-M lenses, the simple fact is that for those of us who are invested in the Canon system, the EF-M adaptor gives us the option to use both EF and EF-S lenses when we want all the while being very similar in size and weight to its competitors. The M5 is not the perfect camera, but it is a step in the right direction in my opinion.
Now as to actually getting the M5, did anyone else get a notice today that release date was delayed until 12/8?
