Thanks for the laughs guys. I didn't realize people were still shooting JPEGs, live and learn.

I was only pulling his leg! 7 years ago I only used JPEG and coming from film had never even heard of raw. I think quite a lot of people use JPEG, especially in news where they need images immediately, but most likely there'd be a RAW as well for later use. A lot of negatives have been lost in the same need to get images quickly where they were rushed and insufficiently rinsed and have since eaten themselves up from the chemicals left on them.

Raw files lead to unwanted cameras being made.

Great shots. I quite like the jpegs the M5 produces, although I have to admit I like the ones my M3 produce too. I really wish I had waited and got this camera, just for the AF and EVF.

Speaking of the EVF, any comments on it?

if there's not support for RAW yet, then shoot jpeg until there is support. Also, whats doesnt make sense about shoting jpeg? When i'm on vacation and messing around i never shoot RAW.... vacations, having fun, parties are all JPEGS.... i don't want to sit there and edit "fun" photos that i'm not being paid to edit.

Vacation Photos all JPEG

Fun Photos (All jpeg)

Shooting EVERYTHING in Raw doesn't make sense to me! When i'm at a business client, shootig or brands etc, ONLY raw.... but fun.. ONLY JPEG.

Why not shoot both Raw and jpeg? I am not questioning shooting in jpeg, I am questioning not shooting in raw. Does the m5 have dismal jpeg+raw buffer?

So was I. Thought it was good humor so carried along. I am sure many have reasons to shoot JPEGs and are therefore looking at in camera samples.

It's not as good as an OVF but it's clear, smooth and refreshes quickly.

read the comments above for reference..... when i shoot for clients and brands and work, i ONLY shoot RAW..... when having fun, vacation, park, parties walking around..... i shoot just JPEG because i dont plan on sitting in front of my computer editing photos that i'm not being paid to edit...... and i don't want to store RAW files for the sake of Storing them.

I SHOOT RAW when working....
I SHOOT JPEG when having FUN!

That's All.

Just got an email from the retailer I pre-ordered my M5 from...they recieved their initial shipment, but had more pre-orders than cameras. I'm in the group waiting for the next shipment, with no ETA from canon. Now I'm majorly bummed...-?

If I take enough pictures, at least one of them should turn out...maybe
