Is there any reason to pick a specific Canon Service Center?

I have CPS and want to send in a body to get checked out. The form is asking me to send it to any of the service centers - CA, VA or NJ. CA is the closest to me. Is one better than the other for service, etc. that would cause me to pick it versus the closest one to me which is CA?

Not that you have this choice, but the Canucks have complained bitterly about their centre.

I've not had an issue with CA, but people always rave about NJ, so I was wondering.

Yep, some of us have complained about the Canadian center, but actually I don't know how the different centers compare in their technical work. I suspect all the techs worldwide are trained the same way to the same standards. There could be differences in administration, though - the centers might have varying policies on things like borderline warranty claims and when refunds are justified.

I personally used all 3, CA was my favorite, VA not so much, lack of communication mostly lol. But for actual work done they were all 3 the same

Either service location is good. Obviously, if you're on the west coast and send to the east coast (VA or NJ), it will take longer to arrive unless you're willing to pay extra to get there quicker.

Once it gets to the service center, it's worked on by any of the techs. So the next time you send it, it will be handled by another tech. All the techs are trained the same way.

I've dealt with all three and they all performed the job. Even going to tradeshows or sporting events, CPS booths are set up.

i'd just send it to the closest one...i sent a few thing to california location with no real issues...one lens took a while cause it was waiting on a part, but i think that can happen just about anywhere.
