Thank you. It's been a long time since I have been able to play with my camera

Very nice! No scorpions in Ohio to play with.
I remember when my husband was talking about moving here I was terrified of spiders (all kinds) and scorpions. Now that I have learned about them, they are my favorite critters to photograph.

Nice shot! Here in Arizona the bark scorpion is prevelant. It is easily identified because it is one of the few that climbs walls. On average I kill about 15 a month roaming my yard. Been stung a few times walking in the house at night. You step on them they sting. Feels like stepping on a staple. Then the area goes numb for a few days. No physical sign of the sting just pain / numbness, assuming one is not allergic.
Again, great shot!
Thanks! Since I am highly alllergic to bees I am probably allergic to scorpions, according to my lung doc anyways. Even with that risk, I cannot kill them.
Same thing with the recluse. After being bit I sprayed my boys bedroom and bathroom because I don't want them to experience that kind of pain. First time in 7 years that I have used pesticides. Since doing macro photograpy I have a new appreciation for all creatures, to me they seem to have their own personalities. Like this one seemed to like having it's pic taken and didn't mind me moving it around. The other one, while not aggressive kept trying to run under the material. I don't think I got any worthwhile images of that one.
That being said, you have to do what you have to for your safety. If the scorpions were getting into my home I would have to take different measures, like you have done. I had no idea they were the only kind to climb walls, I wonder why. Weird you come across so many constantly. I wonder how many we actually have in our yard

Lovely shot of the scorpions
Thanks Brian. I have really missed talking with you and seeing your amazing photos. I couldn't bring myself to come to the forum to see them as it would only make me miss macro even more. Health problems have me on oxygen 24/7 and I get exhausted real easy. Only time I get to take any pics is when my kids bring something in for me or something wanders in. I so miss my nature hikes and bug hunts with my kids. I am seeing a new specialist so I am hopeful he will find the right meds to get my pulm/heart pressures down so I can get off O2 and back to what I love.
