More Great Blue Heron!

I guess this was my first time shooting wildlife other than in my front yard . Although my gear reflected nothing wildlife related, I feel I got some great shots. These were in the Back Back Wildlife Refuge around Virginia Beach,VA a couple days after the tropical storm moved thru.

Well done, can't believe how close you got. The one's on the pond behind the house won't let me within 200 ft.

The preserve I go to all the time you can walk right up to them........10-12 feet.

I have Sand Hill Cranes walk right up to my front door. They're nuts.....

Really nice, Dan! That last shot is exactly why I always use Servo when shooting animals; you just never know when they're going to do something interesting

I guess thats a benefit of being at a wildlife refuge, they are used to people.

That's how it starts: you get a photograph you really like... then start gearing your equipment to shoot wildlife/birds. It's exhilarating.... but expensive.
