Some of them seem to stick around. If they don't mind the summer heat! There is certainly food here year-round.

Apparently there is a recognized "non-migratory" race that is intermediate in size to the greater and lesser varieties and sticks to Florida. (from allaboutbirds.org). I remember reading about this over the winter when planning a trip to Bosque Del Apache during the last week of 2016. Talk about cranes!!!!

Thanks very much. I see them everywhere, they can be a little skittish. These two showed up while I was under cam-o cover so they stayed for a few shots.
