A pair of Bush Stone Curlews (or Bush Thick-Knees) pretending that they cannot be seen.:-)

I often see people strolling by these birds in our parklands, oblivious to their presence as they stand so still and are so well camouflaged.

At night, they make quite a haunting, wailing call which I like but can sound quite spooky.:-)

Thanks Mike, these birds stand quite still when they know they have been spotted, so they are an ideal subject for allowing you to fiddle with camera settings to get things right.:-)

Thanks Mike. I wanted a good comparison shot, but it seemed like they never had their bills out of the water at the same time. I was very lucky to have them lined up so well when they did.
