This fall's migration has been quite lackluster compared to other years. I hope it isn't a sign of things to come. However, we did have one good day this week after a cold front blew through and this brought the first Blackpoll Warblers of the season. The fall birds sure look different than when they blitz through here in spring.

Excellent as always. I'm beginning to think the price of a bird's visit to your area is posing nicely for a photo...:-P

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

There will be days when you get the shot(s) you missed days, months or years before.

Let me just add that I hate you Midwesterners and East Coasters and all your warblers!

Seriously, I was in Chicago a couple of weeks ago and got a bunch of lifers. Definitely thinking of more trips next year, to catch the spring migration perhaps.

Oddly enough, most years I do better on warblers in fall than in the spring. Having said that, I think Ohio has some good warbler sites in spring; perhaps you could look there.

Very nice, Al. Methinks if there was only 1 Blackpoll in the country, you would find it. ;-)a
