I was visiting my alma mater, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for an event and happened to have Saturday morning free in Chicago before my return flight to Portland. So, I decided to pop in to Montrose Point Bird Sanctuary. The weather was not good - cloudy and low light and intermittent rain, but for a West Coaster that is always jealous of Midwesterners and East Coasters and their abundance of warblers, it was a good outing.
Here are a few - I had a hard time with noise due to lighting but hopefully these are okay! By the way, most of these are lifers for me, probably the most productive day other than my Costa Rica trip!
