Do any of you use the focus stacking feature of this camera? If so, how do you like it? Does it work well?

Also, so you find the “Pre-shot” burst useful at all? (Where the camera takes a burst of photos prior to you pressing the shutter button all the way down.)

Last question-does this camera have focus peaking & if so, can you choose the color?

Thanks!

I have tried focus stacking and my results are mixed. I think it is me still trying to figure it out.
I love the pre shot when doing sports. But the shutter button is a bit sensitive and I find myself pushing to hard at times.
Peaking color choices are red, black, yellow and white.

Are you referring to noise? I find the noise from Olympus to be much more pleasing to the eye than that from my Canon gear.

I'm guessing you mean pre-5D mark IV? The 5D 2 and 3 had really ugly noise, for sure. The Oly has smoother noise, but it starts much earlier, especially in comparison with the 5DIV, which has pretty uniform and fixable noise.

I've tried focus stacking, but not seriously. EM5 2
It was more to do with the sequence and number of images, but I didn't 'crack' that code.
I do need to play more so anyones experiences are much appreciated at my end, and I guess for the greater good.

A few things I found out when I was failing.
1 Not all lenses work for in camera stacking.
2 The final image is cropped a little so watch your edges.

Just bought a mkii today , I already had a Panasonic g80 and PL 100-400 and viewing results from that lens and the mkii since the firmware upgrade made my mind up .
Hopefully revive this thread a bit once I get going with the rig

well that's a very good start.
The black plumage is challenging at the best of times, but moving too.

Not good about the mucked up ones, but at least they weren't print :p
Look forward to seeing this continue as I have a genuine interest since the firmware upgrade.
Plus the 100-400 Panasonic

yep very pleased , I think I,m now getting on top of most settings , its gradually falling into place another shot from yesterday and a flower from the garden just now .. my initial problem was the focus jumping all over the screen in c-af cured by going to s-af .its a learning curve and totally different to the way canon or nikon do things. BTW this is the omd1-mkii body with the firmware ver 3.01

another one from yesterday , still trial and error with the settings but getting there a faster shutter speed would have helped here . and I also realised I was missing shots by the evf taking a second or so to wake up , I have now changed that so the EVF is permanently on as per DSLR ,which will help in target acquisition and tracking . the downside is higher battery drain but I'll work round that one .

just found a work around for keeping the EVF live .. once set up simply go to the bottom of the gear menu and set sleep mode to 1 minute it then turns off to wake it up simply touch the shutter button as you raise the camera by the time its at you eye the EVF is awake

One minute doesn't work for me. It is not long enough. I have mine set to 5 minutes.

Everything at this moment in time is subject to change I’ve only had the camera for 4 days , so there’s a lot of trial and error in any statements .
How does having it on for five minutes at a time impact on battery life though .
