I know there aren't that many A-mount shooters here, but it looks like Sony put the A7rii sensor into the new A99ii. It will be interesting to see how it is marketed, and how it sells. Here's the product page at B&H:

By "handicapping" that a7rii sensor with the pentacle mirror, any guesses on a DXO sensor score? 93-94?

This looks like one heck of a body.

Let's see, what can I get for all my non-A-mount gear? :)

Edit: Even if I sell my a77ii I come up $500 light. Oh well . . .

No word on buffer depth and how long to get those 42MP files from buffer onto SD cards? Suprised no QXD slot to be honest. But this make the 5D4 look a bit sick, and overpriced. Now if Sigma can find their way to a A-mount 500 f4 OS this would be more tempting :) but for now Sony lens lineup makes it impossible to swap for Canon.

Not to mention I love having CPS support too.

XQD should have been a no brainer given file sizes and frame rate.

The rest looks very interesting

The buffer is 54 RAW and 60 JPEG.

What lenses you miss? There are from 16mm to 600mm.

Good catch! But you can buy a Minolta 500 F8 for 300 bucks, it's not F4 but you can shoot with one hand LOL! :-P

If you are willing to buy Minolta glass--which is very good and very well-built--then A-mount is a very attractive option for some of us.

The Minolta 600 HS f4 can be had around $4k. That's a ton of great glass for the money.

The Minolta 300 HS 2.8 can be had well under $2k.

I bought my Minolta HS 200 2.8 for about $600. I slap it on my a77ii and I have a stabilized 200 prime. Slap any A-mount lens onto the the a99ii and you get 5-axis IBIS and that great 42MP sensor. There's a lot to like about that

Sigma and Tamaron make quality 150-600 zooms. You can get the Tamaron for around $700 new if you catch a sale.

I had one, but as I don't shoot wildlife or sports I sold it years ago.
