If these are as good as the other ARTS canon will have their hands full.

$3000.00 is a big difference. the current 150-600 sport is a killer lens. If this is on the same playing field I would get the Sigma

I think I'd be interested in the 12-24 if it proves itself in reviews and the price drops a bit. The main factor for me is if it can take filters. I love using my Haida ND's so can't go without them now.

When an 85L iii comes it, it will probably be at least 2KUS. As someone has mentioned (can't remember if it was on this site), Sigma will make the best optics they can without taking size or weight into consideration much where as Canon will try get the best optics for the smallest size and weight possible.

I have a bad back so the weight of my body/lens is important to me (there was a time I could barely hold a 550D and 17-40 without back pain). I'd love a 35L ii just for the f1.4 and that beautiful red ring but I love the IQ of my 35 IS and its so small and light I just can't let it go.

I'm basically seeing the 85A could be anywhere from 37-39oz

A mk3 85/1.2 would be very close to AUD 3K I believe, if not over. I can't find a white market retailer selling the mk2 for less than $2500.

If the mk2 35L is anything to go by a revised 85L will be larger and heavier than the current and probably lose some of the character that people refer to while delivering clinically excellent IQ.

Pffffft

weight is going to be a non factor for the 85 class

IF

The Bokeh is butter smooth and the lens focus is fast and accurate like the 85 1.8 then Everyone will jump on this thing.

I have used them all. The 85 1.4, the 85L both had issues......still using the 85 1.8 because it does not miss focus and its fast and the bokeh is acceptable. its not F/1.4 and butter smooth like the L...but definitely acceptable

If the sigma can match the 85 1.8 for accuracy and speed and has super creamy bokeh, they wont be able to keep the shelves filled.

Yes it's 3310 according to sigma. So the weight is slightly heavier than the 120-300 non sport or slightly lighter than the 120-300 sport. Either way yes no problems hand holding this lens which is why I'm selling it and keeping the much lighter canon version.

you're going with what canon version?

i know i'll never own any of these lenses...but i like when the new ones come out because it makes the old ones that much closer to me attaining them....you've got the 12-24mm new version...the old II versions is probably like 500-600...the I version will start being around $300...

the 85 f1.4 is going to be cheap too...it'll be in that limbo spot of $250 for 85 f1.8, and all other 85mm's being expensive...so like $500...sounds good to me

I think he might be talking about selling the 120-300 and keeping the 200/2L with TC

For us would probably be $4.2K-4.5K considering legit places like Digidirect sell the 35L II for $2600!

Honestly I have no clue what I was even talking about. but Yes I am leaning on keeping the 200L w/ TC and selling the 120-300.

I just switched my pre-order to Adorama due to the free dock. I don't have the dock yet but don't plan on getting rid of my 24A and would like to micro these lenses.

Has anyone else pre-ordered the 85?
