Feb 06, 2017 22:53 | #158 hellokevin wrote in post #18266389 Proud new owner. Had to sell a couple of lenses for this one, but I've been EXTREMELY happy with it. I've had my cautions and reserverations about it when it arrived based on my experiences with my other Art lenses. I've had about 7 different Art lenses of different focal lengths, with about 4 or 5 of them needing adjustment on the dock. THIS 85mm however, when testing it on my fiance's eyelashes at a profile angle, got the focus consistently, 5/6 times. AF is faster than the non art which I'm happy about. ![]() Just out of curiosity, what lenses did you end up giving up? 5D Mk 3/// Canon 70-200 f/4L /// Canon 24mm 2.8 ///Sigma 85 1.4 ART ///Sigma 35 1.4 ART/// Godox AD360/// Flashpoint Li-Ion x 2

I have an 85mm 1.8 and a 135L that I was thinking about selling and adding some coin to pull off the same deal. I'll be wanting to keep in touch with you to see if there is any remorse. Giving up your 135L must have been hard, really hope it is working out for you. Maybe you have a 70-200 2.8 that can pick up the slack telephoto wise? 5D Mk 3/// Canon 70-200 f/4L /// Canon 24mm 2.8 ///Sigma 85 1.4 ART ///Sigma 35 1.4 ART/// Godox AD360/// Flashpoint Li-Ion x 2

smythie I wasn't even trying More info Post edited over 6 years ago by smythie. | Feb 08, 2017 12:47 | #162 Not sure if the Lens Rentals MTF test has been mentioned but as we expected it's the sharpest AF 85 out there and that is wide open at f/1.4 and just as good as the crazy expensive Otus. So good right out to the corners it's amazing.

Consider their test on sigma 70-200 f2.8, it ranks right up there with the canon 70-200ii, yet no one else can replicate this conclusion. Sensor cover, AA filter, microlens, sensor design, all of that matters with final image quality. I dont recall ever testing a lens that was far off from the specs of dxo's test charts. They get a lot of flack for their scores, and sometimes rightfully, but their charts and overall data is by far better than anyone else. Feb 09, 2017 11:59 | #165 Here's a shot with a 100% Crop. Mostly I'm using it @f1.6 since the DOF is just so narrow - even a little turn of the head means one eye is OOF.
