Does anyone know if the new(er) 2 part, square side connector on the AD-S1 power cable from Propak 960 to Godoz AD-360 will fit into the original AD-360 socket (original plug was one piece with taper on one end)? Replacement original style cables seem a touch on the scarce side, on a par with rocking horse ordure and hen's teeth.

A colleague in Ireland has just broken his AD-S1 cable which is in heavy daily use and is down to his last spare cable.

If this one breaks he loses his income so a spare is more than slightly desirable!

Thanks, folks.
Phil

I think you misunderstand. I know the difference between the old and new plugs. Just don't know how the lack of full length groove on Mk2 plug reacts to the gripper springs on Mk1 socket. Do the springs gradually push the plug out of the socket or are they OK simply compressed on a semi-permanent basis? While theoretically possible to cut shallow grooves in Mk2 plug to accomodate Mk1 springs, would these compromise the electrical integrity of the unit(s) owing to the altered format of the contacts within the plug?

the new one will not fit in the old version without trimming. I own a case of them and the only other place that still has them is cheetahstand. You will have to ask for that cable special.

Thanks for that; pretty much what I suspected would be the case. He's just going to have to do a bit of surgery so I hope it turns out better than last time he tried! I suppose I could do it for him but eventually folks do have to stand on their own feet ...... and learn not to tug so hard on his cables! Experiential learning is soooo valuable, innit?

Thanks everyone. I've passed the information across the Irish Sea, it's up to him now what he does (or doesn't do - I don't know what the Irish Gaelic for Mañana is but he certainly knows how to practise it!! Not my problem though.)
