How about number 2? You caught it perfect. I do not see herons enough to notice that the wings can be raised during a strike. I wonder if that is a one time coincidence or if that happens most of the time.

Thanks Greg. I think it depends on the way they are striking. I believe that is a balance move as you can see one leg lifted also. That was a real lunge attack IIRC.
