I just got an AB 800 and using on a Canon 7D2.

Using Yongnuo YN622 triggers works great; but I had a basic question. When going to the flash control menu, theres the option for adjusting output level (which I used for my 580 EXII) but because the AB 800 has the built in power control, the level doesn't seem to adjust when using camera flash control. Is this normal?

Yes, because the there is no communication between the trigger/camera and the AB 800 except for the moment the flash is triggered.
