Hi guys - forgive me for posting this here but I am after a quick solution.

I have just installed PS 6 on a new Dell xps With a 4K 15" screen.

The PS6 menus are too small read!! How do I increase their size? I do not really want to reduce the display HD.

Please gimme the answer someone, it's probably obvious but has eluded me for the past 20 mins.

Many thanks.

What OS are you using? in Win 10 there is a scaling option, for my 6K screen I have it set to 200%. This makes all of the windows look like a normal 2520×1440 display on a 27" screen. You have a whole load of zoom options available up to I think 250% in 25% steps. Unlike changing the resolution everything is still rendered at the full resolution of the monitor, so font smoothing etc works really well. Also when you select 100%/1:1 view ratio for the images then you get that based on the true screen resolution, not the magnification. There is though one potential fly in the ointment, older software doesn't always support this option. I was using LR 4.4.1 but when I got my system with my 5K monitor it doesn't support the zooming function, so only small font sizes available. I would expect PS 6 to support this as it is still current software. Oh and you do have to close and re-open the Adobe programs for the changes in zoom ratio to take effect. If you are on OSX sorry can't help.

Thanks Al - I see you've had similar probs. I found reducing the screen res to HD but it defeats my object. I will try what you say - when I have a think about it. And report back.

The zoom thing works fine, just go to PC settings on the start button and then select System, top row left hand side, and the first page you see is for zoom. It works really well, it should default at 200% as a guess, it did for my Dell UP2715K 5K display. On a 3840px 4K panel that will give you the same "look" to the display as a 1920px FHD. If you are already at 200% display magnification and PS6 is still showing small UI components then make sure you have updated to the latest version, since PS6 has been around for a long time now, and if you are using an early version from disk it may not have the required support. If you have the latest update then unfortunately like my copy of LR4 it is not supported on UHD monitors and you will need to either upgrade to the CC package, or find a different program that does support UHD.

CS6 for windows doesn't support hiDPI. Adobe did implement it for PS CS6 for the Mac, since Apple was the first to come out with their retina displays. Adobe PS CC has the option to scale fonts with the system scaling, or using a custom scale. Upgrading to CC is the most straight forward/hassle free, but there is another option for forcing CS6 to scale. It doesn't look as sharp as a natively scaled window, but it's easier then having to change resolutions:

Thanks for both replies. I will try the option to edit the registry when I have had a refresher to regain my confidence, since it's ages since I needed to edit a registry. I have at present set the screen for hd display - still a bit small, but better.
I am thinking about a 5DS-R so I thought I'd get my machine up to date first.

Please keep ideas rolling in - if you have any.
