Someone is going to buy it and return it because they can't handle the size...

well good/bad review.

1. No full size samples
2. The weight is on Sigmas site now at 1130 grams.

I got my pre-order in the minute the links went up so I hope mine does ship out on the 25th like it's suppose to. hopefully I'll have mine in 10-11 more days :)

Beat you to it buddy. I've been scouring for news. Too bad there is no portrait. I really want to see this against tamron 85,Canon 85 1.2, old sigma 85, Otus 85, and Nikon 105 1.4. Only a couple more days and I'm sure we will see more reviews.

For me it doesn't matter how many reviews are out, the only two I would trust are The Digital Picture and Dustin Abbot!

I hope we don't have to wait too long for DxO and TDP to get their hands on this lens.

Why? Did you not pre-order? :p

I hope to have mine the same time they get theirs!

I'd have bought one if it was available tomorrow (want a fast 85mm for Thursday night) but mid November (F mount) was too far away. Ended up getting an 85/1.8G. I'll re-evaluate later in November

Same I picked up the 85 f1.8 not long ago and really love it for the price. It will take a monumental difference to persuade me to sell it and pick up the Sigma.

I'm especially curious to see if it has the same inconsistent AF issues that other Art models have become known for...

86mm filter thread?!?! What the **** is that all about? Even the behemoth of glass that is the EF 85mm f/1.2L has just a 72mm filter thread and it's a faster lens! Is it just me or is the ever increasing size of lenses (and cameras) by all manufacturers getting out of hand? In the 70's and 80's it was all about lightness and compactness, easy to carry around etc etc. When I put my old AE-1 Program next to my 5D3 (both with 24mm f/1.4 attached) it looks like a toy! -?

Glass from the 70s cannot peform the same as the new glass now. Not to mention there wasn't even autofocus then either. Yes it's crazy things keep getting heavier but on a side note some things are getting lighter like the big tele glass here recently. However the recent lenses are heaveir from all parties. Seems the only one to compromise weight would be Tamron making 1.8 glass.
