Welcome to my world :p

live view has its flaws of course, it's not 100% fast like optical, there's a very slight delay, and being 60fps on top of read delay, it could be 30ms total? Could be a dealbreaker to some folks (real fast action, although, practice and prediction can overcome the issue somewhat).

Well sony for you but the 5D4 live view to me is just as fast as the real deal. I'm insanely impressed with it. I think it works better than the 7D2.

Looks like TDP has updated their lens spec page. Now shows the manufacture rating. Can't wait to get his verification on the actual w/ hood etc.

So far as advertised 3.7oz heavier than the Canon.

Ironic... the EF-M 22mm F2 weighs exactly 3.7oz. That thing weights nothing. Even the 1.4xIII weighs 8oz. We are not talking alot heavier just some.

I dont mean the autofocus, there's a hint of lag when viewing the real world vs EVF/live view. No camera is immune to it. It has to capture the image, then display on the rear, and that takes some processing and a very small amount of time.

this is what I mean (has nothing to do with AF speeds)

I would look somewhere else like TCSTV or BC Camera. Henry's is usually overpriced in my experience and their service leaves a bit to be be desired.

I pre-ordered mine through Amazon so we'll see how I fare, as well.

I suspect I'll have to go down to the local store and buy one with tax to get it the day of the release. I want this option :).

Amazon charges tax to CA residents or else I would order from there. I guess it's Adorama or B&H for me.

Poor. Just trying to get hits on their website. When the lens gets released will we finally see some good reviews.

I have both Canon 85.2 and 85.8.
Yes, the speed of focus is definitely slower on 1.2 side, and 1.8 focuses faster.
BUT, 1.2 focus success rate is almost perfect every time even with my 4 month old baby who constantly makes sudden movement, which makes it very hard to get the eyes focused with 1.2 DoF.
On the other hand, my 1.8 focuses faster, but success rate is about 50%. it shows it is focused, but the end result shows either front or back focus.
I only feel the 1.2 is slow when I test it from minimum to infinity speed, but it never happens in real life situation when you take portrait photos.
I would NOT trade my 1.2 for anything, and I certainly would NOT risk for "hit or miss" Sigma lens.

Nate704, have you try the AF on 85 1.4 art yet or are you basing this on previous art experience.

I have a 50mm 1.4 Art, and it is not a good performer.

I guess I've been super lucky in the sense that all three of my Art lenses (24, 35, 50) were great right out of the box, no complaints, blah blah blah. The only lenses I've ever purchased that had issues were a Tamron 28-75mm (always looked like it was shooting through fog... returned it) and a Canon 100mm F/2 that was the same (and returned). Hoping the 85mm works just as well as my other three!
