Is the 5D4 not compatible with the Yongnuo 600EX-RT flash? I just tried it yesterday and get nothing but blown exposures in ETTL or manual mode. The 5D4 says incompatible flash when I try to change anything in the flash menu.

I think the comment should be that the Yongnuo flash is not compatible with the 5D IV and not that the 5D4 is not compatible. Maybe Yongnuo has a fix.

Are you certain that the flash is detecting that the camera is eTTL camera, so that it is choosing the ETTL mode?
Flash may default to film-based TTL mode which would cause all exposures to be Overexposed.
You may need to make sure that the camera is On and functioning when you mount the Flash and select the mode, for it to go into ETTL rather than TTL.

The 5D4 says incompatible flash attached when I try to change anything in the flash menu.

The problem seems to be with wireless mode. I can use a 600EX-RT on the camera and it appears to work correctly, although the 5D4 says incompatible flash attached when I try to change anything in the flash menu.

I tried mounting one of my 565EX flashes on my 5D MIV. I had no problem. I then mounted one of my 622C triggers on the hotshoe, set it to flash my 565EX on a 622C, and tried it, all worked fine. I got no messages on the camera, nor the flash. Sorry I don't have a 600 flash.

I had to ditch my Youngnuo 622C triggers

Non compatible with the 1Dx2

The 568EX11 does work on camera but not with triggers

Tried for a month to see if youngnuo had an update---- ZERO RESPONSE

I have purchased new flashes from Godox

568C all compatible with 1Dx2 as well as all Godox triggers and strobes compatible

Fed up with Younnuo's crappy customer service

Buy Godox it works

My Opinion ???

ETTL behaves better on the Godox flash units than it does on my 580EX11 or the 600 I tested against

ETTL is far far far more accurate on the Godox units than it is on the Canon units.....BY A MILE

The menu is easier to use on the Godox V860 than it is on the 600's

Output is the same

Build goes to canon but I would not say by a lot

Flip white card on the Godox is a piece of crap....will break off with use..I put up with it because I use a demb flip anyway

Costs go to Godox-- 175.00 v/s $550.00--- Another No Brainer

It you buy it from Cheetahstand you can get it repaired cheaper than you can through CPS with a canon flash when you break off the hot shoe

Ability to use with your other Godox flashes........Goes to Godox

Ability to use older flash units on the Godox system v/s canon systems :-P:-P:-P:-P Canon is a joke

Ability to trigger with other lights.....goes to Godox

Godox has the best trigger system on the Market. Nothing can touch it. I can trigger a 600BM, a CL360EX and a speedlight from the same trigger and shoot in Full F/16 light with no issues and I can shoot at F/2.0............Never gonna Happen with Canon flash equipment

Canon lost a loyal customer. Godox kicked Canon's Butts anyplace you can test the Godox products at against the Canon flash products

Its simply a No Brainer. Godox wins by a mile and then some

Thank you.

I only have one speedlite, and have been considering getting some more as I want to learn more about strobe photography.

So I will look into these.

Have you tried the recent 1.9.0 firmware that supposedly improves compatibility with new cameras? I gather there are also some similar updates for the 622s...

I found the firmware. Different firmware files, and firmware updater apps, for the flashes versus the transmitter...

The system seems to work correctly with my 5D4 now, although I still get a "Incompatible flash attached" message on the 5D4 sometimes.

Strange ... no problem at all with either the 568EXii or the 622C triggers on the 5D iv. They work fine, exactly as they do on my old 5Dii.
