Digital Camera Speed Challenge #433 - View from above

Your image should clearly show it was taken from a viewpoint higher than the main subject(s) in your entry. Taken from windows, hilltops, ladders, buildings, mountains, planes, etc. but please NOT just "still life" or pets or kids taken looking down from eye level.

***************
RESULTS!

A few comments explaining my choices - I'd be interested to know if you agree or disagree.

WaterBoy 2090 - "Over the Pacific": The most "above" of the entries, and the moon is a bonus, but I'd have been tempted to add a bit of drama by some judicious processing.

M_Six - "Saltzburg Farmhouse": Wow! It really jumps out, and the central composition works, but maybe the added blur around the subject looks a bit overdone? Was this a drone shot?

darkslinger - untitled waterfall: Striking and unusual - almost an abstract. Where is it, and how did you hang so far over with the (presumed) tripod?

airfrogusmc - "White Hat": Maybe the most likely one to be seen in an art gallery. Like the clean, hard B&W. I tried rotating it 90 degrees left and think that would be even better - for web use, anyway.

Hye5 - "Austin TX": Nice job with all the delicate shades of white - what is the building?

Sibil - "Windmill farm - Palm Springs, California": What role do the "ponds" play - or are they unrelated?

philk54 -"View From Orvieto": A pleasant scene but so small I had to zoom in to appreciate the rich texture of this landscape. I think it would have looked much better posted at 1280 wide.

OldCrow - "Horse jumps": Interesting shot but if it wasn't for your title, I would never have guessed what these were.

Tom Reichner - "CAUTION: Bighorn Sheep on Roadway": A clever shot, squeezing sheep and distant flaggers all in-focus into the same frame. It does result in a slightly awkward composition, but I like it.

THE WINNERS

VERY tough deciding between these four. I changed my mind several times, but in the end I applied this test for the winner: which one would I hang on a wall if it were mine? It would be the waterfall.

Gold: darkslinger
Silver: airfrogusmc
Bronze: M_Six
and...runner up: Tom Reichner

Sorry to stick you with running another challenge so soon, darkslinger, but there it is...

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

This challenge is now closed. Thanks for the great variety of entries although it's going to make judging really tough.

Results later today.

Congrats to the winners. I would have picked the waterfall as well.

Honestly I don't know.

Some great shots here. Kudos to darkslinger, airfrogusmc, and Tom. Thanks for the 3rd place nod, teekay. That was shot 7 years ago with my DMC-FZ18 from Hohensalzburg castle down at a farmhouse in the fields below. The tilt-shift effect was added in post, also years ago. As I've become more experienced in such things, I realize I messed up putting the blur all the way around the farmhouse when there should have been a central strip of clarity across the perceived plane of focus. But it's too late now to go back and change it.

Love the sheep shot, Tom. And as always, pure art from airfrogusmc. Very cool and daring shot, darkslinger.
