More great stuff, Rick.

I'm already obsessing about getting back out there next May. Your photos are making it worse!

That would be cool! You were out there earlier than me this year. I kept up with all your trip reports. I'll probably be a little later again (I have to wait for my daughter's school year to end). If everything works out, she gets out on May 18 and I'll be in the park around the 22nd. This summer, I stayed in GTNP for 4 days before heading up to YNP. Next year, I'll probably go straight to YNP to try and get as many days in before the post Memorial Day crowds get there.

Yeah, I prefer to go earlier to try to avoid the crowds.

Late April to early May is a good time. This year I saw the first bison calves the third week of April. I also enjoy October when the crowds thin out but won't do that this year because the wife just had a knee replaced.

I've been in October once before but this year I wanted to get the peak of the fall colors.

Yep, by October the colors have faded. The reason I like it is the crowds have faded too.

.

Great series, Rik!

I especially like image #1. What is in the extreme upper left corner?

.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

I think that's the base of the Eight Mile Bridge over the Madison River. Thanks for pointing that out, I should clone it out of the pic.

Nice pics. We didn't get there until early Oct. Rut action was pretty much over by then.
