Did pretty good considering it was my first time and honestly more disappointed in the 7D Mark II than anything else. By the end of the day It looks like I might have figured it out but I was out there for a good 6 hours. I was on Case 4 with Single point to which did work great but looking at the images, There are a lot of slightly out of focus images and mind you I was at 1/3200th for most of the day once the sun shined.

Off topic a little bit but is the 200mm f2.8L II USM known to be quick with focus or a bit slow? It seems fast to me but probably not as quick as a 70-200 or the big whites.

Heya,

Nice shots, looks great.

The 200 F2.8L is very fast, blazing fast. I'd be impressed to find out that anything other than the most modern 70-200 was faster actually. I use a 200 F2.8L as well, they're old lenses, but they're very fast to focus and still very sharp wide open. Great lenses. It's as fast to focus as any big white I've used...

Very best,

I like the images as well. You did a good job getting low--as low as your players. Seeing their faces is great.

I think they all look good. You have the most important part of the shots in focus, the faces. I also have a 7DII and 200L 2.8 and find it focuses very fast for me.
Great series.

My 200mm was faster than my 70-200mm@200mm when I tested. Less glass to move to and fro maybe?

These shots are very good. I really like the 200/2.8, it's a great bargain from the L series line up. I find the 200 to be quite fast. It served me very well even on the older bodies
like the 30D I started out with. Like others have said, you've got all the keys going on here: low, faces, action ..... this is good stuff, keep it up.

Very nice photos! Great job at getting eye-level with the kiddos, and the colors and backgrounds are also nice.
