It has been a while since i have posted in here. I just got the Canon 7D MK II so i figured why not, please give some CC. I think this is a great way to learn.

They both look a little overexposed to me. You might try a graduated darkening of the lower 1/3 in #1 and an overall darkening of #2.

I agree with the overexposure as well. I would consider pulling the highlights way down in the RAW converter, assuming you are using one that allows separate control of highlights/midtones/shadows, as a first step. If using ACR/LR as well as pulling the highlights you could probably also drop the midtones (Exposure slider) a bit to put you much closer to where you want to be, without necessarily needing to ad a filter.

I see from the exif data on the first one that you used manual exposure. I must assume that you wanted them this light. The one with the cart is more visually interesting. In the other one, there isn't a clear subject.

The over exposure is a bit much for me. Have you tried turning into B&W and maybe making a bit moody? The first one I have a hard time trying to figure out what's going on with with the cart and kid. Just a bit too wide if that's the subject.

Thanks for the input, i was using LR on these images. I have used the sliders and for whatever reason on the tree picture i had the white cranked way up. When i pull the whites down the areas that were blown out come down.

Thanks again.

Yes i believe i shot both of these in manual. I wanted the candy cart bright, looking in LR the image is showing some blown highlights only in the moss. The tree picture the subject was the oak tree grove and that is it, just a picture of the oaks with the moss.

How does one easily view exif data online?

Thanks for the feedback and advice.
