Read a lot regarding how to do StarTrails. I am new to this and always wanted to give it a try. So I gave it shot and I lucked out and got a comet and planes in the shot. I used StarStaX software to do the work. Any pointers would be great and always willing to do better.

Nice star trails but no comet in your image . Comets are a green object in color . Looks like you have a possible Iridium Flare and a satellite trail as well as a couple plane trails .

It looks like a black and white picture to me, I see no color saturation at all in any of the stars nor the red/green warning lights that are normally part of a plane light trail. That's not to say it is a comet, but that would explain the lack of green color to it, it could very well be an iridium flare. If it were an iridium flare I would expect a longer satellite trail given a 20 second exposure, especially considering the length of the plane trails.

Go to www.spaceweather.com (external link) or www.heavens-above.com (external link) and check info on any comets available to see . I doubt you'll find anything to back it up . Besides that comets in a star trail image would be a blob , not a distinct figure in an image ...

There is some pink hue in the airplane trails.

I don't know what's in the image, but it's definitely not a comet.

The obvious thing being that without tracking it would be trailing, just (well, almost) like the stars.

I'm sorry, I had a total brainfart last night, not a comet...a meteor, I think that's what OP meant.
