I think you are spot on for AF...the M5 being incredibly fast and accurate compared to the 6D.
The two will make a great Hansel and Gretel.

Just my opinion but I feel that some lenses may appear sharper on a mirrorless body simply due to the AF being spot on and no miscalculations.

Went and played with the M5 again today. I'm sold. Nice little camera.

Thanks to those who gave me information about the "nose" issue. Played with that specifically and it won't be an issue. I like the menu system since i'm a Canon guy and it's very familiar.

Now, we need to start the i-G12 Fund to finance the purchase.

Gonna have to save up my money and maybe by then there will be a small price reduction. ::fingers_crossed:

Great decision, but I love all cameras despite each one's flaws. I'm just currently bummed with our weather and minimal shooting opportunities. There's always macro inside I suppose.

Here are some more shots from me playing around with the M5

The Canon 35mm f2 IS performs well on the M5, although it can be quite annoying if you leave continuous AF on.

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

So I just read that the max flash sync speed on the M5 is 1/200th. It's not the 1/250th I would like, but more manageable than my 6D's annoying 1/180th.

The more I use this body the more I love it. If Canon released a 50mm EF-M I would be ecstatic, otherwise I may just get the EF 50mm f1.8 STM. I also love the focal range of the 15-45mm kit lens, I just don't see myself using it much since it's too slow on the long end. If it was a f2.8-f4, I think it would be glued to my body haha

I've worked out why the af drag keeps getting disabled, turns out the button on the front by the lens mount eables/disables the af touch/drag directly.... lots of the user manual to take in at once!

Just snaps really of the bach we stayed in just out of Martinborough, for the UB40 concert.

Main door and deck. Weather wasn't that great so we didn't spend much time here.

Slightly retro decor in main living area. it was just this room, a teensy bathroom, and kitchen.

Outdoor bath - apparently they get great night skies, no light pollution I suppose. Could be worth a trip some time for night shooting.

I am generally pleased with the M5 but I find that indoors under artificial light it struggles to focus sometimes. It will focus, then unfocus and come up with the red exclamation mark. It's really annoying and the same on all except the 22/2. In good light it is a great camera, but then all cameras are great in great light.

Using the M5 + 400mm 5.6
A wonderful combo in my eye for size/weight.
