I've posted a mini review of my impression of the M5 after one week of use. I got about 15 images on there that I'll eventually post here.

You can read it here (external link) if anyone is interested

I see Pekka's added the M5 to the forums' exif-detector!
Thanks :-)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts Daniel! I've been following this thread closely as I've just made the switch to a mirrorless system, but no the M5. Not really sure why I went the way I did other than I was hoping to avoid an adapter. I do miss my 35 f/2! :-(

Thank you :D are you tempted in switching back and getting the M5?

Before I bought the M5 I looked at the A6300 and Fuji XT-10 and body wise, they looked great but I couldn't find any decent priced prime that would give me the same setup as the M5 + 22mm f2. Also I do love all my EF lenses and yes I could get metabones, but that's $700 where I live compared to $100 for the Canon made EF Adaptor.

No, I'm pretty content with my choice. I'm sticking with native Sony lenses to avoid adapters. My goal in switching things up was to get a high quality set up in the smallest package possible avoiding adapters. I'm able to use a 24,50, and 85mm prime that get me 36, 75, and 127.5 which is essentially the FL's I was using with my 5d3 set up. I'm super envious of the M5 LCD though! The Sony screen is pretty crummy which of course effect the overall user experience. Otherwise, I'm pretty content.

The LCD is definitely something special. Reviewing the images is so much better and easier with the LCD.

Random shot of "Eat Street" in Rotorua. I had my little schoodle with me , and as most places had outdoor seating, I didn't see a problem. It turned out that while the restaurant/cafe was happy to have our custom, og as well, that the Council invoke $300 fines. I also hadn't noticed any signs.

OK - I am very happy with my M5 and kit 15 - 45 ..... but as I have gradually acquired faster lenses for my 70D I am suffering with the kit in some ways.

As someone pointed out, it's great in good light, but I struggle with the small aperture at 45mm . I have become used to lenses wih f2.8 ..... can Canon do this for M5?

If I take enough pictures, at least one of them should turn out...maybe

Here's a photo with my m5 using the nifty fifty. I hate this lens. I am really unhappy my sigma 18-35mm doesn't work. That is such a beautiful lens.

Here is the 18-35 on my 70D, the difference is huge.

I have some shots with the 22mm f2 to go through, hopefully it does better.

Why doesn't your Sigma 18-35mm work on the M5?
