Went hiking today. Great camera for rough slick terrain when you don't want a lot of weight.
Do wish it had some weather proofing but I carried a dry-bag in case of heavy rain.

Agree about weather proofing .... maybe if enough jump in a buy the M5 Canon will get serious about mirrorless. I kind've wonder if it worth their while when Fuji, Sony and Oly seem to be doing it so well, from what I read. Perhaps it depends on whether Canon see enough buying M5, or absconding to other brands .... I don't have any of them, am all Canon since I went DSLR, and don't have the budget to buy a complete alternative system.

Love that shot though Robert .... must get out and do some silky water with the M5 :-)

Random shot of dog to see how high iso goes (high for me).

Some high iso shots (for me) in low light. Margaret Merrill past her better days :-) Lightroom noise reduction and sharpening ... I am very much an amateur at those two things. I think it shows in the noise, but these are huge crops.

looks as though f/5.6 might be sweet spot on this lens, but will need to check a bit more ...

Thanks Rose. Now have a laugh. I'd gotten an ND filter just for that hike, and of course promptly left it at
home :( Luckily it was normal overcast no Sun day and I dialed up the Rokinon to F22....begging for distraction
but all I could do at the moment.

Hope you don't mind Rose. I did a quick denoise/downsample of one of your pics.
Say the word and I'll delete.
Living in the cloud forest I need all the denoising practice I can get.
But good on you experimenting with what noise/ISO pushing you can accept and the
camera can deal with.
Let me know if you think too much detail was lost.

Oh gosh Robert ... such a difference and thanks for showing me. You can see why I keep iso down as my processing is so useless, other than basic edits,

So is this shot with the Rok 12? How are you liking it so far?

If I take enough pictures, at least one of them should turn out...maybe

Robert...that looks great.

I know you use another third party denoise program but am wondering if that photo would clean up in LR using the noise reduction sliders etc?

Looks like ISO 6400 is perfectly usable via some tweaking. Def. need ISO 6400 in my world.

I don't know yet. That was my first time using the little Rok on the M5. I'll save judgement
for a few more trips with it.
I do love the size and to be honest with you guys that shot is a focus stack of 3 images.
At F22 (trying to get the blur with slow shutter/shouldn't have forgotten the filter I know) I
think the image just could be much sharper.....so I was using the LCD because of the precarious
position I was in and I couldn't see the focus peaking well. So I figured I'd dial in three different
focus points then merge them in Zerene Stacker.

I'm sure it would....but I don't use LR hardly anymore and didn't think to try.
Next time I'm playing with the M5 I'll try LR. Sorry :)
