Had a go at the noise in Lightroom - just moved sliders over, need to become more confident, but it is better?

For the last several months my regular walk with the dog has been at Haumoana 95% of the time. Unfortunately a man was bashed out there Sunday night, and left lying on the cycle track. He was found about 7am Monday and later died in hospital ... consequently I don't feel happy walking there at the moment. So back to Pakowhai Country Dog Park, where dogs are allowed to run free.

After temperatures of 30C deg plus early in the walk, it has plummeted to about 17C deg, and feels very cool by comparison.

With 22 f/2, really liking this combo, and still haven't tried all my original lenses with adapter ....

That's a shame. didn't think things like that happened in NZ. Here in the states we're quite used to news like that.

Happening all too often unfortunately ... mindless violence and vandalism. Over in one of the Napier suburbs elderly people are scared to go out on the streets, and have to keep their doors locked because of young scumbags intimating them, and stealing. Police numbers not adequate for what is happening in this country. It's awful , after growing up in the fifties when people didn't lock doors ... because they didn't need to. (Showing my age :-)

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

What a backward step ... if true, despite all my Canon gear I can see myself eventually migrating .......

Looks like the M3 with a bit more of a grip. Not sure what the selling point will be?

The M6 seems a bit of an odd choice. Is there that much demand for differentiation that they basically offer the same camera with or without a permanent EVF? Will the M6 be that much cheaper due to the lack of an EVF?

editing rather than a new post:
My M5 arrived and I've got the battery charged up. After fiddling with some settings I think I have it working the way I want it to. I definitely see what some say about the build quality around the grip, and I can see where Canon maybe went a bit too thin. Some thicker bracing there would have prevented the flexing, but I'm not concerned about it from a functionality or longevity standpoint.

Overall, the rest of it feels fairly solid and well put together.

Hey y'all, been scrolling through the thread and love the stuff you have been getting. I am looking at the M5 as a travel companion and walk around camera for going out with friends and days on the boat, when I want to leave the 5dmk4 at home. My question for you guys is how is the durability factor? This would be a throw in the backpack with other gear camera for me, not really one that I would baby like my 5d (in a small case, not just the naked camera bouncing around, but you get the point). I would probably just get the 22mm lens and leave it on there, so I want to make sure it can withstand reasonable abuse.

I had the Fuji x100T and that was super durable, but the AF was absolutely garbage, it would hunt in anything besides broad daylight, and the fuji controls felt backwards to me and it was not getting used so I sold it. When that camera had a keeper it was great but it would be literally a 1 maybe 2 out of 10 keeper ratio for me.

I like shooting manual and the manual controls for the fuji were too weird to wrap my head around. How is it running and gunning shooting manual on the M5? Or is it more of a leave it on auto camera. I played with an EOS m3 in best buy and liked it a lot. I am also looking at the sony a6000 series, but the menus and dials are weird on that camera too, although everyone seems to like them.

Thanks for any help!
